e cabrio soft top will it discolour and ways to maintain it? Normal Washing. If discolored, mean its old, time to change the top fabric or change ride...:becky: heated seats means? Seats with heater, meant for countries with winter.

Heater and cooler are two different functions(with different buttons). They are options.

You will have also have hydraulic components to worry about with hard top equipped models. Just ask SLK, SL owners. They will tell you they also experience the occasional alignment issue, weather seals etc.

Hard top gives you better sound insulation at the expense of weight.

Anyway if you're intending to get a brand new unit, it'll be covered by some form of warranty.

Parking outdoors frequently will subject your canvas/vinyl top to UV discolouration.

Rubber seals should be maintained every once in awhile with the appropriate grease otherwise hardened rubber tends to allow water seepage into the cabin.

Bro' date=' I went to see a PI n the e cab, the DRL I turn on engine in showroom, in “A” mode doesn’t light up leh/// DRL is 'OFF'

Also when I turn full headlamp, also don’t show up.

But when I just start the engine full turn, it will light up 2 second then switch off.

Any idea? DRL can be turn 'On' or 'Off' in the 'Multi-function display'

was told the set is from Germany then HK.. means? Meant for HK market, might have 'Keyless'

the gear stick writes S-M-E. Same as S/M/C

Bro Desmond,

Assuming drl is activated in the multiple function display,

If set in A mode in the day, which lights are lighted up?

If set on A at night any difference?

And if turn full headlamp on at night, will drl still be on automatically or?

I find the double eyes, the one nearer to the big star is a bit yellowish white vs the other one nearer to rims is white. Is that normal?

Bro Desmond,

Assuming drl is activated in the multiple function display,

If set in A mode in the day, which lights are lighted up? If its bright enough, then only the DRL. Else, all lights are ON plus the DRL.

If set on A at night any difference? No diff, the DRL auto dims when the main lights are ON.

And if turn full headlamp on at night, will drl still be on automatically or? Yes DRL will still be ON.

I find the double eyes, the one nearer to the big star is a bit yellowish white vs the other one nearer to rims is white. Is that normal? Yup its yellowish

Anyway, saw your the other thread...Congrats!!! you finally bought it...I'm sure you'll enjoy it very much...Cheers!:car::car::car:

i tried searching for it, but seems no one have discussed this before.

Anyone here has reapplied or intend to apply weather proofing product on you soft top? I googled and found most Beemer cab owners here are doing it.

cheers

Guys, Don't attempt to apply anything on yr canopy if u are not 1000% sure of the product. Normally the products are oil base, after coating yr canopy, it will darken & shining too. Yr smile on yr face will short live!! Bcoz after each downpour all yr window will hv oil stain & is messy. U got to clean it after EACH time when it's rain till ALL the oil is gone for good like six month later?

That's the reason why there are not much topics on this canopy maintenance. Many groomers will not dare to touch yr canopy coz they know is messy!! When u insist they ask u go PML(BMW agent) to get it, then they apply for u. So when things starts to get messy, bingo u are to blame!! Smart??

So how I know?? Is not difficult to guess lolz. Just apply soapy water & clean it will do as for bird shit, nothing much u can do about it. So avoid parking under bird shit areas as much as possible!!

Agreed.

All natural products will work best.

So just use water!

Just like I don't trust polish and wax... Hehehe.

bro desmond, my canopy also hosed off with water only, just that sometimes the car wash fella accidently snowed the whole car with foam.

I noticed when it drizzles, the water isnt beading too well. Had a chance for side by side cab comparison when an exact cab at my office parked next to me and it rained...i think mine did not bead, thats why i am researching if there is such a product being sold.

Also thanks for the warning abt oil streaking if using oil based product...
