Do you switch on your DRL?

ok so if i would like to activate the drl permanently firstly i would need to turn off the engine put it on standby then as for my headlamps do i need to get it off before i active it?

Firstly you needs to know whether your headlight comes with ILS feature or not. From your post it seems like yr ride does not comes with ILS feature. Before you starts meddle with your setting etc snap a picture from yr windscreen particularly the top center with a sensor.

As mentioned, only ILS feature will continuously switch on DRL whether the headlight is on or off. But you can choose to switch it off from the control panel. In short, the DRL setting is not by whether you switch the engine in on or off position.

If your car doesn't come with the Intelligent Light System (ILS), the DRL will not stay activated when the headlights come on. It also depends if your DRL is stock or aftermarket fitted. It does not matter if your car is the Avantgarde or Elegance model, those just state what interior trimming and exterior bodykit your car comes with.

If your car comes stock with DRL, the solution to keep your headlights on permanently without ILS is to modify the DRL system. If you're interested, look up Ah Boon at Autospritze. If your DRL is an aftermarket one, probably good to go back to the shop where it was fitted to enquire.

the drl is fittied stock. because my own e class was avantgarde n i think i paid extra for that lighting system. as for the guy that asked its the cny special edition model that comes fitted with amg body kit n drl so im suspecting that its not fitted with the ILS since he did not pay more for it

Daytime running lamps

Daytime running lamps in Canada

The daytime running lamps function is required by law in Canada. It cannot therefore be deactivated.

X Turn the light switch to c or Ã. With the engine running: depending on the ambient light, the daytime running lamps or the low-beam headlamps are switched on. When the low-beam headlamps are switched on, the L indicator lamp in the instrument cluster lights up.

When the engine is running and the vehicle is stationary: if you move the selector lever from a drive position to P (vehicles with automatic transmission) or if the parking brake is applied, the low-beam headlamps go out after three minutes.

When the engine is running, the vehicle is stationary and in high ambient light brightness: if you turn the light switch

to T, the daytime running lamps and the parking lamps are switched on.

If the engine is running and you turn the light switch to L, the manual settings take precedence over the daytime running lamps.

Daytime running lamps in the USA

In the USA, the daytime running lamps are deactivated upon delivery from the factory.

X To activate the daytime running lamps (vehicles with a luxury multifunction steering wheel): you can activate the

It is only possible to activate the high-beam headlamps if the brightness of the ambient light is at a low level.

However, the high-beam flasher can always be used.

By the way this car is 2nd week only just collected one

Ultimately you just want your DRL to be on even though your headlights are on right? Call your SE (Sales Executive) now and ask if your ride comes with ILS. If your SE says your car comes with ILS, ask him/her to walk you through the steps to activate the system. It's their job to walk you through your vehicle's system and settings when you collect your car. If he/she says no, look up Ah Boon at Autospritze for him to do up the DRL Dimmer mod, which will make your DRL stay on. If you're not comfortable with modifying the system in your car, you'll just have to bear with it that the DRL will shut whenever the headlights are activated. As simple as that.
