Turn the temperature dial all the way to the hottest setting, recirc off, fan speed on full blast. Get out of the car and let it run for at least 3-5mins. The smell should go away. You have to do it dilligently at least once a week.

Had the same issue with my w204 - horrible smell almost every day for about 30-60seconds. Eventually, Pandan loop people re-programmed the AC control to dry the system. Been several months and almost no smell. If in warranty, give it a shot with your service advisor.

  • 1 month later...

Just to update,

Went to my regular air-con guy to check it out.

He did some checks, pumped gas and changed the filter.

Next day when I started my car, no more smell! :)

Problem solved! :)
