Hi guys,,

Need help in finding a relatively cheap and good hotel in London.

Preferably somewhere near Hyde park, if possible.

Otherwise, somewhere that is relatively near all the shopping areas would be good.

First time in london so have no clue as to where to stay ah..

actually can try renting dorm rooms at universities - should prove to be even cheaper. plus you get great company at night if term is still on :becky:

You all ah, terrible lei..

Actually, am staying at the Waldorf my last 2 nights there coz they full for my first 2 nights.

So thinking can cut cost abit and do more shopping if my 1st 2 nights I stay at some place cheaper.

I just cannot tahan to pay 250 pounds for a place that makes Hotel 81 looks like 5 star hotel lor!! (Don't ask me how I know how hotel 81 or fragrance look like ah.. I only know how it looks like from the pictures and videos SY69 showed when he stayed there)

If u gyys are curious on how it looks like also, you can head to www.simonyeo-hotelromps.com.

Anyway, don't mind paying a bit of a premium since it is after all the waldorf, but not 250P for a bloody place called prince albert and looks like singapore's 7 storey hotel!!

so that's why hope any brudders here know of a place, relatively cheap and in a safe part of town and if its really 250p, at least looks good ah..

Tried tripadvisor for the reviews, but scared one man's trash could be another man's treasure lei..

Some say the place is perfect and all, I look at the pics, look like Sing Hoe Hotel in mountbatten road lor!! (Another one of those hotels that is on www.simonyeo-hotelroms.com)

Hi Narmi.

These service apartments are also available for daily rates (sorry, no hourly rates) and are value for money (according to your toilet sanitation standard required). Have Ascott level, have Somerset level, also have Citadines level. All managed by Singapore's Ascott Group, so toilets have been inspected!

http://www.the-ascott.com/

If you want near shopping areas, then try:

a) Citadines South Kensington

B) Citadines Trafalgar Square

c) Citadines Covent Garden

d) Ascott Mayfair

Don't know what else you may want to know, if urgent, sms/email/phone me...

Also, in the end, stayed at the waldorf ah coz the whole of London was totally booked when I went there ah.. But in my opinion, not worth the price I paid ah.. Service was good but rooms were so so only ah..

Can give indication of whether the savings were substantial enough at LV to warrant crazy times ? :music: Or was the service really that good hehehe

Well, to name a few examples, the LV neverfull in Singapore, in MM size was selling for s$1150 last I heard but in London, was selling for £415 and since I got my pounds at 2.2, comes up to S$913. That's a saving of about $200. The VAT rebate I got was abt £33 so in all, came up less than £400.

Also, bought the LV agenda for £200 and in sin, was about 600ish.. (not sure exactly how much)

and my best 2 buys were,

1) Church's Oxford shoes, in sin, S$820. In Lon,£125.

2) Charles tyrwitt shirts, in sin, best offer was S$200 for 3 pairs, in London, £70 for 4 shirts!

Lastly, not sure if it was a steal but bought the Tod's Ferrari edition loafers for £145. not sure how much it cost in sin but I have never gotten tod's drivers for less than S$400 in Singapore lor..
