Problem with APS20 - Retrofit ?

Hi All, needs some advice from the experienced users here.

I have a problem with my HU (W211), can power up but no sound, radio, changer all are affected.

Sometimes it can work but only for a few minutes then go into "hang" mode again.

Everytime i get workshop to plug in diagnostic and reset, it will work for about 3-4 weeks then the same thing will happen again.

Replacing the original unit costs quite a bit was thinking of swapping into aftermarket HU that can fit into the space with adapter or whatsoever.

Any recommendations of HU or installer that can make it look as OEM as possible with the controls on the steering wheel continuing to work ?

You can try to purchase reconditioned/second hand Audio 20 units at this place. Not as expensive as what C&C suggest.

Do make sure you check with them whether they are any differences with your HU. As far as I know UK uses the same FM range as us (US units don't!).

It looks like they have no technically qualified/trained personnel for doing that or they purposedly chose to do it this way. :twinmfinger:

We have to go & nearly beg the Aussie to do it for us....WHAT A BIG SHAME!!!!!!! :banghead:
