I believe a friend of mine hit a jaywalker who was doing exactly this and wasn't penalised for it.

I bought this because it is designed to be mounted nicely behind the mirror. For the week that I drove with passengers, no one noticed the camera and it is not noticeable from outside unless you take a good look at the car.

This unit comes with a very long 12v cable that allows me to tuck the cable into the gap at the edge and run it along the A frame, along the dashboard, into the glove compartment and to the cigarette lighter point.

It has a GPS receiver (can't use for navigation hor) and a 2 Gb SD card.

You can watch the video from PC with the included software. The GPS data will show you the position on a Google map as the video plays, however, you need internet connection before you can see map.

The model is DRS 1100 pro (Korean product), go to Youtube to see the video. Can do group buy to get a better price, I heard from the Singapore agent that it is selling like hot cakes.
