A200 W177 apple car play self installation question

Hello, i am a new owner of a A200 W177 mercedes without apply carplay activated.

I managed to download the UK mercedes me app and from there was thinking of purchasing the smartphone integration (aka apple carplay). I am just wondering what happen after i purchase, will it automatically update the car? It would cost me around S$550 to do it myself and S$900 if i would to ask someone to do it for me.

Hence would want to do it myself but wasnt sure what are the steps after i purchase.

Would be great if someone can advise.
