The hinge at the fuel cover broke

Hi, i recently got a shock when washer guy opened the fuel cover and the whole cover came off. 

I got no idea when it broke. Just curious whether is this problem common? Never have I thought I will be facing this issue. 

The current temp quick solution is that I used epoxy glue and some fibre tapes to stick them back with 'precision'. It is holding and aesthetically still 10/10. 

Not sure in the long run it will still hold. 

Any kind suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Think can replace the part from any merc workshop. 
so far never encounter before and likely it broke due to external force.
