Engine number engraved where on W124?

Bought my ride not long, but have never seen the engine number myself. Tried to look for it but can't find. Anybody can tell where is the number engraved on the W124? If describing is difficult, anybody got pics to show the location? Thanks! :iconsalut:

Most folk from USA say it is located on their driver's side, rear of the engine (closest to firewall) where the head meets the block.

I suppose ours will be passenger's side, rear of the engine (closest to firewall) where the head meets the block.

Suggest you take along a good torchlight and a compact mirror just in case.
