guess time is really money for me

if i travel 60km/hr to reach my clients, means i will take up more travelling time.

if i travel faster for example 120km/hr, i can have more appts instead and probably closing more deals

thou i can save money on my petrol but that does not save time for me

so the conclusion for me is... hack lah... juz drive lah...

juz my 2 cents :D

althought i not riding SLK, hope you guys dun mind my 2 cents on this, i'm driving W211 FL e200k, i suppose its the same engine as the FL SLK200@ 184bhp. I would say i get very bad FC from the way i drive, but i stay in Jurong East, twice i went airport, middle of night, no cars, doing avg 110-120kmh cruise all the way both times, never lower than 95kmh (except AYE speed camera@90kmh). managed to squeeze my FC both times to above to 6.5-6.7L/100km. maybe you guys with lighter SLK can get better FC on the same distance, i think if can maintain high speed for long distance, the FC might be lower than what has been tried out at 60kmh.

but yeah, just my 2 cents, interesting you guys are trying out how low it can go!

bro, i really salute you on able to stand the 60kmh for so long distance, top down somemore, must have smelled alot of carbon from the lorries and buses!! :iconsalut:

ECP-AYE from Changi to Tuas at 645am. Final FC 8.8L/100km. Traffic jam from Delta to Benoi Sector. Haiz, if any TP reading, they go clear traffic rather than worrying about anyone speeding. How to speed a traffic jam everywhere?

Hi redhood,

yap, TP only catches those overspeed but not underspeed........... :banghead:

i think they should make all expressway speed minimum 90km/hr rather then maximum 90km/hr.....those caught under speed will have their points minus plus a fine.....likewise for those caught road hogging for the third time (licence will be revoked). New drivers and drivers with the age between 65 to 80 no third lane driving on expressway..........

and also points will be awarded to drivers who has got good driving record within 1 year and these point may be used to redeem better rate for insurance and road tax.

Cheers

That's actually what they do in Australia. Go below speed limit and there's a good chance you're gonna get pulled over and told to get up to speed!

I'll say it again - BROADCAST CAMPAIGNS ON HOW TO DRIVE WITH COURTESY ON THE TELLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi funng,

I m currently driving the FL E200K too.

It's kerb weight is 1580kg compared to 1390kg for the SLK200.

This is about nearly 200kg heavier with a bigger body and surface area,

less aerodynamic than the SLK thus more wind resistance too.

Alhtough I have not gone all to try all out what the FL E200K FC can do best,

but I reckon your 6.5-6.7L/100km is not too far off.

I guess the best it could do is still above 6.0L/100km.

hi Unker, takes alot of self control to not want to go faster at 3am on the ECP to airport.

but i honestly don;t think it can reach 6.0L/100km ever! maybe Autobahn on long distance?

i'm averaging 11.3L/100km after almost 47000 mileage (have not reset since day 1 to get best avg FC). Ours not the best FC, but its a nice car to drive anytime!

Unker, jiayou on trying the FC, but i will be waiting for you to zhng your I.C.E.

and i like this campaign we're talking about! but honestly don't think it would be possible. can hardly get to 90kmh, not even 50kmh on highways at 5pm, anywhere.... anywhere!

plus you get P-platers driving fast without being on 3rd lane. cutting lanes without checking mirrors properly, incorrect seating position resulting in poor handling/vision...

and most importantly, not displaying their P-plates! hahaha.

Hi Funng

Not really tried hard enough on the best FC but I've reached below 7L/100km before.

Last 1000km since reset - 9.3L/100km includes fair mixes of driving & waiting.

Unker retired from ICE - I sold almost all my ICE and left with nothing else to start again :'(

Maybe 1 day I will try it on the Autobahn......I work for a German MNC....hehehehe!

Hi Funng,

It was a late morning today passed 11.00 am.

I was on my way to my cousin clinic in Telok Blangah to get my health supplements.

My E200K hit the TPE and I zeroed the odometer - TPE-KPE-ECP-Telok Blangah Rd.

The car average speed was around 70+ km/hr. with wife & kid in tow & air-con on as usual.

I hit 6.1L /100km over 23 km - no need autobahn....hehehehe!!! ;D

I believe if instead of going to Telok Blangah after ECP, but continue towards to AYE -Tuas,

I really dunno how low the FC will hit below 6L /100lm....heheheh!!!

Hi Kepiting1sg,

Is your engine the same as the FL or Pre-FL SLK200? Mine is Pre-FL, with no passenger, aircon on and average speed of 70+ for 23km, my consumption was 6.7L/100km. So surprisingly, your E200K, even though much heavier than SLK200, is drinking lesser fuel :iconsalut:

Just for your info, with aircon Off and for the same 23km, my consumption was 5.8L/100km... big difference right :D
