I think reserve tank is 10L, so most of us will get abt 110km from it.

Bro i think u got it wrong, your average consumption shown is around 11.5L/100km (as mentioned by u previously), that works out to be 8.7km/L and not 11km/L. So 10L will give u 87km and not 110km :punk1:

haha... i am oso one of the seldom people then hehe... :tongue1:

i called for a tow truck to help me tow to the nearest petrol kiosk!

OMG u too ah! Anyway, update on topic before we go too much 'off'. My previous full tank gave me 722km of travel and i pumped 64 litres.

So 722/64 = 11.28km per litre. (That will be shown as 8.9litres/100km in our on board computer)

I stand corrected. So we should be quite far off from 700km anyway. Will stay away from there. I used to have the habit of refueling half tank only so as to save weight (running light) but can't be bothered these days anymore.

Ok, back to topic, hehe...as of now, my average consumption shows 10.6L/100km for the past 700km travelled... Sounds reasonable?

In my opinion, 10.6 litres/100km is a very reasonable consumption for a 3000cc ride with that kinda Power =) My last tank used 8.9L/100km but i rarely achieve such low consumption with my drive mix (last tank used more on expressways, thats why can achieve more mileage). For present full tank, i wanna try to hit over 800km. Will update u guys in this thread if i hit it.

Who say cannot floor and must drive like tortoise? You forgot that i floored until got 'Chao Tar' smell some more ah bro :tongue1: Just have to try to use this tank mostly on expressways thats all, can still play some sprint at traffic lights :punk1:

With all your macho and musular legs and you can still hit such figures? :banghead:

When my tank runs dry, have never cross the 530km mark. Travel at least 60-70% highway, think I must start to MOD soon.... I mean mod my leg :2guns:

Anyway, just to share that i just hit 700Km with my present full tank, still left with petrol of slightly near first bar mark. (Moreover, this tank includes 4 laps of 'Fast and Furious' drag race, meaning not light footed for whole full tank).

that's really impressive to achieve 700km....

That was really funny Craig, leg also can mod :bboyspin: Anyway, if u travel on Expressways during peak hours with slow traffic like 20km/h to 50km/h, its as good as not travelling on Expressways. To gain more mileage, must use most of your petrol on Expressways during Free flowing time =) The balance 20%-30% used in urban area can still play some sprint, its not like u have to drive like an old lady really :punk1:

kekekeke, only hit 722km and u think mine is a Hybrid. If i really hit 800km with present tank, pls don't say that mine is Solar powered hor :tazzie: Anyway, from Sunday till today (Thursday), i've only travelled 300km, still got long way to go man :bboyspin:

If u hit 800km, I would suggest u check ur trip computer. Maybe shorted liao! :tazzie:

Actually i think all SLKs of the same engine can achieve the same mileage, how much distance you can cover depends on your drive mix. Every SLK200 can try this,

Drive to expressway after midnight with low traffic. Set to cruise at 80km/hr then reset your trip computer to zero. The L/100km will DEFINITELY drop to 6.xL/100km after certain distance of travel (It can actually drop to 5.xL/100km).

Let's just take 6.2L/100km, thus 100km/6.2L = 16.13km per litre). With just 65litres, you can travel 1048km in this condition. So it is really not impossible to travel 800km with 65litres if you try your best to use most of the 65litres on expressways.   We cover different distances with the same 65litres because of our different drive mix.

We drive in Urban area = accelerate, brake, accelerate, brake, stop and wait wait wait. Not converting petrol to distance at all, so end result is little distances covered lor :banghead:

Keke... i checked already, was driving on ECP from Changi Airport to Prince Edward exit just now and i compared my trip computer to the distance signboard along the expressway. For the 18km travelled, the difference between my mileage and the expressway marking is only 0.1km

Aye, Ben. Thanks for the tip. Too bad everyday, I see more start stop then open roads. Btw, I think you can save even more by converting to OPC since u drive only middle of night, ha ha! :tazzie:

Anyway, I've never seen my FC drop below 8L/100km.

I've spent tens of thousands more simply because red looks ugly on my silver while black matches perfectly :tazzie: Arrrrrhhhh! kekekeke.

The SLK that sips like a Jazz and has consumption better than somebody's papa's Toyota Axio has just travelled 801.8km and reserve tank just triggered. I can safely travel another 50km with the reserve tank before going to the kiosk, making mileage for this tank 850km :bboyspin:
