Consumption of new cars may be higher than older cars with engine already run in perhaps?

Hey Jef, what's the average consumption for your 350? You normally "step on it" or "take it easy"?

Aye, Ben. I like to "get there fast and we take it slow" so redline quite often. My FC is abt 11.3L/100km. I think it is decent. I drive in "S" mode all the time cos it gives me better FC due to my driving style.

Wow i would consider that FC low for a SLK350 man... agentkaya's SLK200 is drinking 12L/100km leh. (3500cc vs 1800cc leh.)

Wow Agentkaya must be stuck in traffic jams alot or something. I drive like Redhood in my SL350 and my fuel consumption around 11l/100km as well. I redline at every single opportunity I get without breaking speed limits. I believe the 350 in the car's name is actually a misnomer, the merc V6 engine is actually a 3.8L engine according to road tax.

my normal route to work by mostly small road takes approximately 15L/100km on average....

probably because it's 18" rims too i suppose that add up to the fuel consumption ..

a mixture of small roads and highway it's abt 12L/100km on average too

Agent Kaya,

your FC is bewildering. Quite high in my opinion. Are you reading the figures "from start" or "from reset"? If you don't reset your trip computer for about one to two months, it might give better average figures, as the spikes caused by the occasional jams that you get stuck in are evened out by the regular smooth traffic. But if jams are daily affairs, then I guess it won't matter. Hope it improves as the engine runs in.

wow Sareve, your SL350 is so much heavier than SLK350 but yet consume lesser petrol man... seems like V6 engine is really Much better than Kompressor type... Much bigger CC, much more Power, yet didn't consume more petrol if we consider the weight diff. If i drive like you, my SLK200 can easily consume 11.5L/100km too.

the figures i get are from 'reset' from full tank to reserve tank average fuel consumption figures...ya hope it really does improves after running in...

Thanksss.

each and everytime when you press reset..... the consumption varies and by the time you cover 500km.... that average consumption will tend to stabalise....

I am using 19" rim and consumption rise from 11.1 to present 11.6litres/100km

Rules of thumb...... small lighter car with good aerodynamic(lower drag coefficient) will be most fuel efficient with high speed....................Big heavy car with poor aerodynamic(higher drag coefficient) will be most fuel efficient with low speed......

Hi All,

Mine is a Pre-FL SLK 200, mod so far: Sprint Booster, K&N Air Filter, Spec II plugs, Pulley Kit, full AMG Kit plus AMG exhaust, 19ins rims and car is lowered.

So far mileage for full tank i am able to hit 550km (plus / minus).....

Cheers

Hi ACSLK! Welcome to Sgmerc! :welcome:

What are ur onboard figures ' wrote:

Hi Redhood,

What do you meant onboard figures from reset?

Cheers......

Oh, I mean the figure you get on your trip computer. it usually gives two sets of figures. One "from reset" and two "from start". It is probably a more accurate reading than our usual estimation of "number of kms from one full tank".

Wow, you guys have seriously modded rides. Mine is just a plain, fully stock 350. Hope to see you guys at the meetups...

Aye Ben, I'm curious. How did u top up shen u were stranded? Ask bangla worker ride bicycle buy for u is it?

Anyway, I think reserve tank is 10L, so most of us will get abt 110km from it, plus the usual 500km that we are getting, it should be near 600-620 give or take. If u want to get bangla worker sit with u, and a foldable bike in the boot, it might be less. Oh, dun forget the jerry can too!
