Hi thanks, DarkSaint,

Actually what I wanted to know is whether it is possible to convert, say a E200 to E250, using original parts.

So perhaps buy the original E250 chip to replace the E200 chip?  Does it work that way?

Unless the E200 and E250 differ not just only in the chips but other parts? (Which I think not)

As for this RaceChip, looks interesting.

Yes, would like to hear from bros who have installed these.

So the next question will be that with this chip replacing route, there is no reason to pay so much more for a E250 when a cheaper E200 can be chipped to the same power as the E250?

on C180.. using racechip for a long time.. power is definitely there. my friend who drove c200 tested mine, she told me power is about same as c200.

i suspect c180 and c200 from factory should have some hardware differences other than the different tuning of ECU.. not sure on this too...

Yes, that is something I am curious to know.

Otherwise no point buying a E250 when you can just buy the E250 ECU and replace the original ECU in the E200?

The difference between the E200 and E250 can be much more than the cost of a RaceChip, I think.

torque for pick up, hp for top speed

in SG roads, HP is secondary

but the point is people don't buy merc for the specs.... its the overall design and luxurious feel. I was at the motorshow and can say that the only manufacturers that care about interior are mazda, merc and jag.

if you are a specs person, better look at BMW or Infiniti, more bang for buck

Talk about chipping, i recently bought my RSchip and got it installed with Dyno in my C200 W204

Before

Crank HP: 184.738

EngTorque: 204.891

After installation

Crank HP: 190.266

Eng Torque: 211.183

Workshop said it will take 200km to 'run in'. should expect higher numbers but never checked since..
