Staggered tires setup

Griffin

Recommended Posts

Need feedback regarding staggered tires setup.

Do we need to rotate the tires from left to right and right to left for both front/rear tires every 10K km?

Or just check for uneven tires wear every 10K km, if that happen; go for wheel alignment?

What's the std practice for this kind of setup?

Appreciate feedback frm the gurus!

Tks Varero for yr reply,

So they rotated left to right and right to left for front & rear tires.

Checked with tire dealer, normally they don't rotate staggered setup. Recommended to check for tire wear every 10k km. If there's uneven tire wear, then wheel alignment is recommended to remedy the problem.

In mbworld.org forum, they don't rotate their staggered tires setup at all.

Yes, just rotate left to right, check tire balancing..and so far no uneven wear so no wheel alignment issue.

I'm on staggered too.

wah nice to learn that staggered no need rotation.. so meaning you guys just keep checking for even wear and go for alignment say every 5000-7000?

No need to align so often lah... only when required... when the wear is uneven or you feel the car pulling to one side all the time. Of course you can align as frequently as you desire if you have cash to splash  :D

Hi 708,

U need to check for uneven wear tire thread every 10K km by tire shop with wheel alignment machine. If there's, then u need to go for wheel alignment to correct it, thus saving time running around. Rotating left to right n right to left is not really necessary.

More importantly also check n fill the correct tire pressure at a regular interval as this can cause sides or center premature wear of the tire surface.
