W204: Replacement for tail light

Matchstix

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

As I was trying to back out of a tight parking space today, I reversed into the corner of a metal railing. The impact cracked a hole in the plastic cover of my left tail lights :( damn sian.

Would like to seek the opinion of the bros here for the best course of action, my car is a C&C maintained W204 Pre-facelift C180K :

1) if I send it back to C&C , will they be able to replace just the plastic cover or will they need to replace the whole set of lamps? Does anyone know how much C&C charge for such rectification?

2) will other workshops be able to offer such replacements?

Thanks so much in advance for the help!

Personal belief is that while lamp needed to be changed.

You can get from stockist here, but should be arnd 800 - 900 a pair?

Perhaps one way you can try. Try buying second hand.

Www.jauce.com search for w204

Thanks Decruzyong.

I was hoping not to have to change the whole lamp assembly, much less having to buy a pair just to replace one side. I wouldn't know what to do with the other side.

I was thinking if I go back to CnC at least I wouldn't need to buy both sides, but I'm pretty sure I'll get chopped carrot.

Anyone with the misfortune of having similar experience??

Just to share and side track, I broke my W204 front right head lamp assy while changing the parking lamps. The whole assy cost $680 not inclusive of GST and installation charge.
I ask my dealer whom I bought the car (2nd hand) from to order and install for me as the car is still under warranty by them....
