Hi guys

 

gonna get a 2006 W211 E280 next week in addition to my current W212 E200

 

The E280 on the test drive is very smooth and quiet

the Elegance suspension and 16 inch tyres provide a more cosseting ride compare to my Sport Edition W212 With AMG wheels.

 

Nevertheless, is a 9 year old car and I be honest, I will not renew Coe when it comes to end of life.

However, have a few queries about this generation of E class

the car comes with what i believed a command NTG 2.5 With bigger screen. everything works fine but doesnt seem to have the Sat Nav function?

is this because I need to load up a map dvd to the car or there is a genuine problem with the headunit.

 

2. the rear sunshade works fine going up but when going down it makes a bit of a grinding noise. as if the gear is loose. anywhere I can look into this?

I do like the rear sunshade features though.

 

3. the headlights are yellowish. I am gonna try to send to a detailer to polish it off and see whether it will helps.

any bro/ sis have a w211 for scrap soon and willing to part?

Sounds like the NAV DVD is missing. The DVD bay is in the rear left of your boot.

where can i get this dvd? can it be copied?

Best get it from a forumer but it won't be any good. Most likely dated 2006.

So you won't have MCE, KPE, whole of MBS, etc.

 

For system completeness sake, I guess you can clone the DVD using ImgBurn easily.

Are you intend to renew COE? if yes then definitely you need to prepare some repair cost for this vehicle.

its still clear and can let go cheap 

probably as cheap as the labour to polish it?
