Anyone can share on different in performance/efficiency between the 2 selection ?

I believe comfort mode will upshift earlier. Lower revs, save petrol. S mode will make it hold onto the revs alittle more. Not sure what kind of difference you are looking at?

for my w211 08,

C: starts from 2nd gear, and gear up shift faster at lower rev, suppose to be for comfort drive and fuel efficiency

S: starts from 1st gear, holds rev higher before up shift, for more response and power

for my W211 2006.

I always uses S-mode....the manual stated that use S-mode for everyday normal driving condition.

My mechanic friend said that for E-Class, "S" stand for "Standard"...so I should follow what the manual recommended.
