06 W211 Questions from newbie

Hi everyone,

 

I am new to this forum. Browsed through some threads regarding W211. In fact, made me a little "uneasy" especially about the SBC thingy.

 

Hope the gurus here can give me some advise.

 

I am looking at this W211:

This will be my very first Merc(not my first car). Thinking a MB holds better value than a Jap car and even the body can fetch a better value after COE expire.

 

Questions:

- Does anyone knows the history of this unit?

- Is this a Pre-FL or FL unit? Though the dealer stated "facelifted". I'll rather believe the gurus here.

- Has the SBC issue been rectified? C&C honor the warranty for the SBC?

- What should I take note when I test drive? I've owned a cars, but all Japanese made. Hence, need some advise on what to take note.

I remembered SBC is lifetime warranty. C&C will honor.

Both units are the FL model so no SBC issues

Both are FL W211 but Elegance model!

Look for Avantgarde - better wood trimming (bird eye maplewood), xenon, 15mm lower suspension, lesser slits on grills, LED rear lamps, nicer sport rims, etc

 

You might want to consider this one by paying a little more but with higher OMV - E200K avantgarde c/w panaroof
