Car key not working

Hiya

Does anyone know why the car key doesn't open and close anymore? It was working fine and when I reached home, it doesn't lock the car anymore. Thought it was the battery and changed it but it didnt work also.

Does anyone have any idea? Thanks in advance!

Can u start? If yes... then it's not the green key issue. ... next try with ur spare key. ..

Erm, green key issue? Yes it can still start the car. Only thing is that can't lock or open. Tried with the spare and it works. Any idea as to what could be wrong? Thanks!

means that key of your is technically dead..... consider yourself lucky on that... just change the keys... all will be good....

Please check your fuse might be due to the fuse. I did encounter such issue before and its due to the fuse.

Try this if you cant lock your door point your key at the driver door handle at the door handle sensor area and see if it still locks and unlock. If it still do then its your fuse issue.,

TS said her other key worked...... so it should just be that key that  is fried..... nothing else... I supposed...

or swap the battery tray with the spare and see if its works?

Thanks all.. gee sounds like I need get it replaced huh..have to go back to the dealer to check what's wrong? Replacement would cost around $700 and a 3 week wait is also necessary right?

It should be the battery tray contact issue. I swapped them like u suggested and it works. So I still have to go down to c&c for them to check and replace ?

Err the battery i refer to is your car key battery model nos 2025, not the car battery. The former cost you only $2 from Diaso the latter cost you less than $700 by outside workshop. No need everything get to obtain from See&See lah, provided you got deep pocket.

Changing of car key battery takes only 3 mins, refer to your manual or do a search for the video link.

Try this....

 

Take a spectacle cloth and clean those metal contact area and see if its due to dirt and dust.

 

Replacement of whole key is 3 weeks and cost around $700++ i think the key alone already 600++

After swapping the battery can you starts yr car? If yes, use this key for a week.

Can I check whose key only remote unlock car got problem? Battery just changed at Cnc so battery very powerful. Other functions is ok. I find that sometimes when I try remote unlock the red light never light up. But if I somehow press hard enough red light show up and doors unlock. Could it be mechanical prob with the key?

Hmm weird, battery tray no electrical contact point. Try using flower water to bless it, else come to gtg see any expert members can help u?

BM the battery tray got contact point for battery. I think is that contact point that is not good. The silver thing that holds the battery.

I was also trying to 'tighten' the silver contact points. Looked like they are touching although I find that the batteries tend to 'come out on their own'. That shouldn't be the case right..

Thats normal so don worry about it so after cleaning the silver contact points does that work?
