Merc disc rotor lifespan?

My car has reached 50,000km+, I will be changing the disc pad, but should I change the disc rotor too? what is the disc rotor lifespan? What if I don't change the disc rotor? what is the consequence? will it crack?

 

C&C quoted $1900 to replace the pad + rotor.

 

What is the difference between the original Merc and OEM rotors

Which model? I got my original front rotors for W212 at Goldenlink Auto for $160 for the pair. They don't last long for W212. Was recommended to change by C&C at 41k km. For rear, even at 82k km, it was ok per C&C.

I believe rotor need to change once it reached certain thinness, mileage is not a good gauge as everyone drive differently.

Are you referring to front or rear? 1900 seems expensive excluding labour.

For W204, Ive bought mine from stockist.

4 rotors and 4 brake pads plus sensor, and got them changed at site sponsor McWell.

Total damage around $700

Hi I was recommended to Chip Soon due to brake warning lighted. Changed all front and rear disc and pad at $960 inclusive of GST
