Vibrations during stopping

Recommended Posts

Dear friends, I am a first time owner of a one year old W204.  From day one I have experience vibrations slowing down before stopping.  Seems like from the gearbox but have send in to C n C but they say nothing wrong.  After leaving my ride there for three days, its seems that its more frequent now.  Again they say there is nothing wrong from the dianostic.  Anyone has these issue or advice.  Thank you.

Slam it hard for couple of times. If still persist go to outside workshop ask them to check the rotor and brake pad.

is the vibration feel like when engine going to stall?

vibration only at low speed, or slowing to stop?

it might just be something getting choked, not spoilt.

My ride is about 35K old.  The vibration is felt durign slowing to stop.

looking at your posts again... probably it is the mounting like the rest said.

last time my car had slight vibrations also at around 3xk (or 4xk?) mileage.

sent it in and got the engine and gear mounting replaced. the vibrations gone.

i suspect you told cnc gearbox vibration and they literally checked ONLY the gearbox, which is actually fine, that's why the 'diagnostic' showed ok.

i've dealt with such 'square-brained' tech and mechanics before.

you tell them A, they won't go check B when they cannot find a problem with A.

i suggest you send it in again and tell the SE you experience vibration with the car.

go for a test drive with him and sit beside him

if he concur the vibration was felt and then later still not fixed, you got that guy to screw.

I have been reading other post and seems like I agreed with most guys that C n C service sucks big time.

Thank you for your advice.  I did a test drive with the tech. The problem is the vibrations comes and goes.  I did felt it at times but he say he dun.  Anyway, my bad experience goes on.  First service left car there and highlight issue but only service was done.  Went in again fix one issue but not the other.  30K servicing same experience.  Then got car back with the vibration issue.  Left car there for 6 workings days to spray bumper as it got scratch, bumper was done and others not. Now have to fix another appointment to do what was suppose to be done. Hope soemone is C n C reads all this. My cab fare for the 6 days can pump me four full tank.  I am going in again and demand a change and courtesy car.

Go Chip Soon Auto at Tampines . Just had all my brake discs and brake pads , gearbox and engine mounting , camshaft selonoid and rear tail lamps support and wiring changed with labour charges under $1800 . C&C quoted me $3200 after they found all these problems when I brought in my w204 for normal servicing A which costs me $499 . Now car has no more vibration problems which is actually the gearbox and engine mounting issue . Took car in at 1130am and got it back at 3pm . They even ferry me to and Fri to Tampines mall so I can while the 3plus hours there shopping . So happy with the service .

Look for Jason or Daniel , very friendly guys .
