Recommended Posts

My rear tire tio punctured and beyond repair cos tear is sidewall and lau hong very bad so not road worthy liao. Any one has a rough price on the above profile for Conti csc3?

If price is decent I may wanna change all to GY f1a2. Any one recently change and has a price for these profile:

F - 225/40R18

R - 255/35R18

Now my 3 rims are AMG IV and one is the stock 17" avant-garde one.

Thanks for sharing cos with my setup I look like a good cai-tau candidate.

Just to share an update, wanna go for GY F1A2 but no stock and I didn't wanna wait cos family safety. So I went for Conti csc5 same profile. Total cost 1200, split 480 F and 720 R. 2012 made.

If they have stock for GY then cost will be 1100, split 480 F 620 R. They have promo for 225/40/18.

Just wanna add this shop gives pretty good service, used them before last time, the guy will wash my rims after putting on the new tire. It is also nice they use metal valve stem. Shop is Ace Tyres upp serangoon area. I not related, just sharing cos their price is good.

400 + a piece. However there's PI that can give much better prices. You can look for Ryan, 8642 4899. I bought my tires from him. Ard 350 a piece

Something to highlight... If get PI, no warranty and if duador within a year cannot change.... Location AD will not change... For 200 saving.... Not worth...

Hmmmm but 225/40/18 doing 240 so not sure why go for 350 a piece. Tires are consumables so just lup and use, if sway sway puncture just replace... so I just look for reliable tire brand and model and when the tires came out of the factory rather than where to install. :)

BTW my cost of 1200 is for all 4 corners in case I wasn't clear.

 • 1 year later...

so fast 1 year+ liao, my rear tyres starting not to hold their air well as my mileage is about 26000 to 30000 km, front tyres where the side wall meets the treads also showing a lot of wear and last visit to Pandan loop, svc crew also said tread depth is shallow liao... so i am starting to look for new rubbers.

i am now on Conti SC5 and this round has set my mind on GY F1A2, did consider Hankook V12 but one of the branch said no stock for 255/35/18 and no indication of when it will be restock.

So far the best price quoted by shops for GY F1A2 is $220/pc (225/40/18) and $300/pc (255/35/18). Any one knows of better price can PM me or if it is OK, do share it here. Thanks.

I just changed my tyres before CNY. Was quoted the following price for CSC5P.

Front: 19" 225/35 $400+/Pc

Rear: 19" 255/30 $500+/Pc

I paid a bit more and ended up with PSS in the end.

Are you sure? I thought they are a calender company. Didn't know they have tires

Erm, PSS = Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Not Pirelli.

Agree, PSS dry grip is superb.

I am currently looking to upgrade my 17" stock rims to 19". The shop i went to is advising me to change to:

Front : 245/40/19

Rear : 275/40/19

I am still contemplating as i am concerned that rear wheel may exeprience some rubbing cause of the wide tyre? Shop owner said it won't though.....any guru has got insight to share? Am riding a C207 currently.

BTW they also offered PSS @ 500+ for front & 400+ for rear (both on high end of range). Alternative will be Goodyear A2, cheaper but heard that it is noisy when compared to PSS?

PSS is definitely not as loud as A1S2... but Goodyear A1S2 is something like 30-35% cheaper than PSS... so you have to know what you want...
