Programmable UHF Radio Set

I've been using Wouxun KG-689 radio sets for nearly two years and I can recommend this to anyone considering to get a radio set for use during drives. My previous Motorola and Vertex sets didn't last past one year before the battery went haywire.

The Wouxun uses lithium ion batteries and are easy programmable by the user using the keypad to save different frequencies conveniently. Bear in mind that these sets are not IDA approved but so far no issue.

I bought my sets from Sectronics. I don't know if they are still around or not. Even if they are not, these radio sets are easily available for purchase online.
