Car ventilation question

Suppose I drive through a smog-polluted area. To prevent the smog from entering into the interior of the car, I should switch the air con vent to closed circulation only. Unfortunately, most of the time, we do not know we have entered the area until a bit of the smell has already entered the car. Now, if I switch the air con vent to closed circulation, how will the smell that has entered the car get out?

Is there an exhaust fan that extracts air from the car out?

Just like any air-conditioning system (even the one installed in your home or office), it comes with a filtration system.

Just open & shut the window immediately? Mine comes with panaroof so everytimes i fart i will tilt the roof then immediately close it back & tell my passenger stop doing that coz is rude!!

the air is suppose to re-enter the system and this time round filter off by the car's filtration system before it gets re-circulated out...

The problem with opening the window is that I don't know if I am letting in more nasty air or letting out.

Does the filtration system get rid of smells too? I thought it only traps particles...

Till date there isnt any device that can detect fume & activate the auto circulation. It will be good to have such devices though.

but hor .. now i learn how to use poison counter poison .. my workplace the toilet smell is like 10 years never wash 1 .. then everytime i go i must hold my breath before entering .. till got 1 day hor .. i went in then got few uncles smoking inside then i realize not smelly at all suddenly only got the smoking smell !! so... if got fume smell in your car , you must faster light 2-3 cigarettes and start spam puffing there was 1 time i stopped at red light and the lorry beside me is smoking inside his lorry with his windows up .. i find it dam funny ! now i know why

anyway just to share... how to suck out the nasty air inside ur cabin...

u wind down window of ONLY 1 side(probably driver side)... wind down only 1/4... this will only take effect while u are driving, maybe about 60km at least or so... the faster u go, the effect more powerful of cos... It creats a aero-dynamic, sucking out all the air inside the car... alternative, ONLY left window 1/4 also can.

2nd method, u wind down window of 1 side(probably driver side)... wind down only 1/4... but this time round u also wind down ur REAR LEFT window to 1/4.... air will flow in from the rear left, and suck out from the front right.. you could feel the wind/air one....

alternative front left 1/4, rear right 1/4 also can... pls ensure only this 2... not all 4 windows

wat i meant by 1/4 is.... u only wind down 1/4.... leaving ur window 3/4(enclose) and 1/4(opening)

actually no need to do anything... e moment u get then nasty exhaust smell... just press that circuation button... and very soon the air will be clean again...

ya actually dun need .. unless someone fart or pass by a canal then i open my roof and 4 windows n drive at 100km/h and a few sec the smell totally gone
