Buying high mileage Used C-class from SgCarMart....what to look out for?

Recommended Posts

What should I look for when considering a used C-class with mileage of more than 100k? The car is a 2004 and high mileage, body wise, I am not particular. The most iportant thing is the heart of the car, engine, gearbox, transmission, etc. Small issues are not a problem, like scuffs and dings on body....

Few things are iportant, that is, should be stock and not modded like siow before, or if the car has been in an serious accident and the structural integrity of the car is already copromised, etc...

i'm extremely surprised at the reliability of the C-class, first time in my life, at a major service, the SA told me there's NOTHING wrong with the car. nothing to change, or repair, or bill me for anything except the oils. shocking but that's a good thing i guess. collecting my car from pandan tmr if anyone wanna say hi.. ;) mileage 56k and going strong!

agree. mine's coming close to 40k and it has never missed a beat except for flat batt once. merc sibei reliable. now i understand why MB often used as teksi.....LOL!

vt5, how much was it to change the batt? you bought the merc batt? they quoted me $600 before install/gst.

mine went flat overnight n called star assist. techie came within an hour and popped in a 74Ah MB-orig batt for under $400 incl gst and install. i thot that was oredi a ripoff price considering the amaron 74Ah cost abt $200 outside but bo pian cannot start.

I am AA member, they sell Amaron batteries and if any issues, I will just call and they will come over and change the battery. On top of that AA give warranty, so its a fair deal. May be slightly more ex but, like I said, peace-of-mind!

AA once came and changed the battery on my W203 C Class - $200+ lower with Hoppecke battery (Quite well known German brand too)

Thought that was not "too expensive"!

BTW U the same guy selling your Omega Speedmaster on sgroc? :)

Cheers

I'm a MB Whore! :)
