E200K, luxury saloon but a little improvement needed

Recommended Posts

I realized that my E200K does not have a cup holder. Not at the front seat, not for the rear passengers. I always thought the E-class is a luxury car, but such simple detail were missed out. A bit vexed.

Once, I bought some food and a drink at McDonalds drive thru, but found that I have no where to place my coke. I drove with one left, has to be left hand since signal is on the left. Was quite dangerous since I am right handed.

Tried those air-con vent clip ons but found it flimsy and shaky.

Any one there has any good ideas to share? Photos will be very much appreciated.

Improvement found in the new W212, took away the gear shift to make way for cup holders.

There are drink holders for the front and the rear. The rear central rest houses the 2 pop up holders. If I remember correctly, you have to nudge it out of the slot. For the front, the holder is between the gear knob and the central compartment. It is shown in the owner's handbook.

Hope this helps. Skyhawk's recommendation allows the current holder to have another holder.

Wait, just to confirm something. I used to have one of these that flips to the RIGHT of the car. I.e. to the driver side.

The one in eBay, is it still the same?

It is super uncomfortable and hard to drive when the think is resting on my thigh.

Hi V6Engine,

Did you get your tray cup holder in Singapore or from overseas eBay? If Singapore, can you tell me where you got it?

Hi bro,

indent from tye soon. They have all of what u need for merc. just give them your model i.e. w211 and chasis number and they will order or check stock for you. Once the items are here or if ex-stock, you can pay cash and carry..

YES!! I am ignorant. I found a cup holder at the rear seat arm rest. My 7 year old was so excited and ask me whether there are other "tricks" about the car.. Now, will go look for cup holder for front seats.

The compartment between gear shift and arm-rest is too small to hold a cup of coffee..

The compartment's internal "container" can be removed. With that removed, the compartment is wide n deep enough to hold a cup. I've been using that setup since I had the car. I than place the container inside the arm rest n use it as a sub compartment to hold items that u want to easily used.
