Well... Just thought it'll be good to have wifi in the car.

Especially when I travel to M'sia. Everybody in the car can share 1x Internet access.

Don't use roaming, get a local pre-paid.

But caution on the coverage on the N-S highway.

I got one of the portable mifi from Huawei. Seems like the easiest method. In any case, you can share the data connection from most smartphones now.

I'm thinking of installing it on a permanent basis. E.g. hook up extra power via usb, etc.

Any bros have done it?

Easy,

Buy a wifi switch that can be powered on without having to physically turn the ON switch when power applied.

Subscribe to mobile broadband that can be plug into the switch.

Place the system in the boot. Have a electrical source which is set to power up when u start the car. Tap direct from the battery not good idea. Been using this for many years.

This one very useful if travelling overseas with a prepaid local card!

IIRC can connect up to 5 phones/iPad/Lap top
