What do you guys think of the new Mercedes TAXI on the road?

This month is a significant one as it marks the arrival of the first batch of new E220 CDI BLUEEFFICIENCY TAXIS

Just got my keys to the new model.

I was cruising down this road, maybe Alexandra road or somewhere nearby when by chance i rolled up next to the same model in grey at the traffic light junction.

You should see the priceless look on the driver's face when he realised his car just became a TAXI model

From what I've heard from my company, the management is in discussion with Cycle Carriage to "unlock" furher range of

colors for the E220 taxis, like silver and grey for the 2nd batch next year

Saw two yesterday looks very nice and new compared to the previous version. When i was in Zurich two years back, took a S class cab, was owned by the driver, self employed said he bought his at CHF 70k+. Can only cry for oneself for the price we pay in Singapore.

Can consider this mod. Add a "NOT TAXI" display on the top on the roof in the same place as a a taxi with a "TAXI" display. Maybe this can help...

Taken quite a few times this new limo model on the way for work. Engine is extremely quiet compared to the previous 220 model.

Ah ya E class owners been long used to the fact their car model also concurrently utilized as public transport liao since the Bug eyes CDG to CDI model. What's the big deal with moving onto this one as a matter of fact of fleet upgrading leh.

Sorry for late reply ah, been very busy driving the Merc around.

The rental for this new Mercedes E220 is the highest ever, at $159.XX a day. Luckily I have my regular scheduled customers(daily) so I can earn most of it after half a day. If it is a lucky day, i can get enough customers to offset the rest of the rental plus earn enough money for the day. Bo bian. I rent full day but sometime got a few hours off on weekend to drive to town and walk around leisurely.

No, Comfort wont be getting S class. My friend once told us of this rumor a few years ago but straight away kenna "shoot" by fellow drivers because rental for E class already so high, confirm S class will at least be $300/day onwards.

How to earn money?

When the current flagship Chrysler taxi reach max lifespan, maybe we might see S class

I just got picked up last Sunday by your fellow Merc limo bro. He was complaining to me about some issues about the new limo besides the new higher rental. Confirm it's true that your driver seat is manual adjustment not electronically ? Really can't imagine the cost cutting measures such as this feature removal.
