C&C: transform pre-fl C to fl C exterior with AMG Kit

solar

Recommended Posts

Today received the quarterly newsletter.. one particular page caught my attention:

Give your C-Class a new facelift with the AMG Styling Kit.

... transform the look of your pre-facelift C-Class into the New Generation (NG) C-Class with AMG Styling Kit.

Included:

NG Front Headlamp Assembly

NG LED Day Time Running Light

NG LED Rear Taillamp Assembly

NG Front Bonnet

NG AMG Complete Front Apron

NG AMG Side Skirt

NG AMG Complete Rear Apron

AMG Logo

*include labor, parts and paint, 2yr warranty for lighting

*throw in free $588 Nano Sealant

* 25% off AMG rims till Dec '12

Whole package is $13888.

Does it sound worth or not, or better do it outside? My car is 'just nice' right before the FL model came out..

The moment FL came out, my car's resale also gone down right? a bit 'ai wan'...

Doing this will also 'maintain' the resale value? (okay.. am trying to justify the mod  )

Original AM kit alone with Benzline is already almost 10 grand with spraypaint. Considering that this includes headlights, tail lights and DRL and done by C&C, I would say it's a decent price.

You referring to the ones with cross-drilled rotors with Mercedes wording on the calipers?

Yup! Wonder if it's open for facelifted W204.

I tot last time is tick the option for amg sport package will include brakes, suspension and rims on top of the bodykit. Looks like c&c getting a better end of the deal no doubt there's headlights and drl. Nevertheless the price is astronomical for me. ^^

Hi Guys,

Side track a bit.

Do you know who sells the cross drilled rotors with the MB calipers?

Any idea how much it costs?

Thanks a million..

If you can find a shop that's selling, I'd like to know too. Judging by the price of aftermarket brakes, I highly doubt that it'll be cost efficient to your wallet to get the AMG kit brakes. I've been quoted for a 6pot mini with 304mm calipers at $2k, and normal 6pot with 330mm rotors for roughly $2.6k. Cost of a 4pot is below $2k. I believe the AMG kit brakes are same as the stock brakes just with cross drilled rotors and fancy calipers. Not worth the money spent unless you can get a cheap second hand set.

The cross drill rotors will not fit your current calipers as it's slightly bigger in diameter. They are available at any local merc stockiists. Bought mine from Goldenlink for $250 a pair.

Got mine used for 1K

I was searching for this too, till the point i gave up and was thinking if I can find just the plate with "Mercedes Benz" written on it and stick it over the stock calipers, the stock calipers will look like the AMG kit ones. The AMG kit calipers are the same as the stock ones, the only real difference would be the drilled rotor.

so far nobody has suggested an outside workshop that can do the same, and at what price.. but I will definitely bite if they can do the same with half the cost from cnc :-)

If you want the original Mercedes AMG kit look, Benzline has the AMG kit, our site sponsor Sonic Racing has the head and tail lights, GMS Carworkz has the bonnet. It's possible to retrofit from the pre-FL to the FL with the AMG kit. It's just a lot of research and hassle to run from workshop to workshop to fit on different parts. Scheduling and planning must be spot on if not you might find yourself driving around without a bumper!

It'll be much easier to go for aftermarket body kits, which is so readily available for pre-FL W204!
