Sorry guys,

Accidentally deleted the tread!

Continuous problem even now?

Intermittent problem everyday or every other day or weeks?

Car came to a stop?

After restarting the engine, car ok?

Car lost power, then pickup again and everything seems normal?

How many times it had happened?

Cheers

Car came to a stop? (no power almost crawling speed)

After restarting the engine, car ok? (yes)

Car lost power, then pickup again and everything seems normal? ( that was what happen when the issues first appeared)

How many times it had happened? (more than 8 times)

I just replace a brand new ECU (original from local stockist) and get it programmed .

now the car is running smoothly. can feel the gear change much smoother.

I choose original ECU because i renew the COE .

The reasons why I asked these question.

I had 2 PFLW212 both CnC cars.

The 1st W212 was less than 2 months old in 2010

After pumping petrol & while driving out of the petrol kiosk, the car becomes jerky and lost of power.

I switched off the engine and and turned it on again, the ride was ok.

I had that car for 1 yr+ and another time while driving, the car suddenly lost power as if it went into limp mode but after continuing driving about less than 10s, it became normal.

The 2nd W212 (Nov 2011) had a few similar incidences or rather iirc 3x.

That cat I drove for >190k km before I sold it last year.

Timing cam gear changed, gear box pcba changed, turbo charger (cannot remember repaired or changed)

Each time the problem went away for a long time.

Had this car for 5 years.

Cheers

So now the issue is resolved after replacing a brand new ECU and programmed?

I remembered my previous CLK has engine oil leaking through the wire harness and it almost got into the ECU.

Was lucky that the ECU wasn't damaged, but I have to replace some engine oil seals and the entire set of wire harness.

Happened to my previous 2003 W203 too - same seals & harness changed

MBM charged me about $3k ..ouch!

I got mine replaced and mixed at Chip Soon, original Mercedes parts; and cost me less than $1k.

Did you replace the ECU too?

Not ECU but harness, seals & sensors - near to $3k

That's really OUCH!!

Really makes me ponder how engine oil can leak into the wire harness and almost get into the ECU.

I never had such issues with my previous JAP Cars...haizz😫

For the W203 was poor design to get engine oil into the engine wire harness.

I was told by MBM at that time beside changing the wire harness & sensors, they did some mod to prevent that happening again.

I drove it for 5 years and my younger bro took it to the full 10 years without further issue.

What a waste to scrap it!

One of the better looking W203 at that time on the road (see pictures below)rear.thumb.jpg.a086202e27d8dd5bf821b004246b7349.jpg

That time young like most here want more hp & ride to look good

Changed the following on my W203

1. Changed C180 Supercharger to C230 Supercharger (MBM)

2. Kleemann K Box with pulley kit with K&N air filter,  bigger fuel pump, Kleemann down pipes, (MBM)

3. De-Cat (MBM)

4. Lorinser twin LTA approved exos (Benzline)

5. Heller Bi-Xenon Headlamps (Benzline)

6. Full Lorinser Body Kit (Benzline, sprayed painted by TCL Spray Painting - the infamous Ah Long)

7. Brabus Monobloc Rims (Benzline)

8. AMG Front BBK (Benzline)

9. Upgraded Audio System & took part in IASCA competitions. (New Generation Cartoon)

After looking back, nowadays everything is stock!

just a follow up review

everything run smoothly after the ECU changed. pick up was good. car was responding well to acceleration.

Glad that i choose the option of changing original ECU from local stockist PAS auto.

initially was weighing the option of
-Repairing the ECU (less than 1K)

-Replacing with brand new ECU from PRC (1.5k)

-Replacing with original ECU (slightly more than 2k)

Guess i say too early.
now the problem is back with more serious issue. Exactly 2 week after ECU change, cannot step on gas too heavily, if not the car will jerk and come to a stop. and when the car stop all light on dashboard light up. ( happen few times today)

not sure what happen, i rest awhile then restart the engine i can move off again. but have to be very gentle on the gas. not sure what is wrong this time round. will be sending in for check.

my friend say maybe is because jb shell not pure enough... i doubt so.

Did you use original ECU and a  full remap?where you did the fix?

You have to do a remap... cos your original ECU has gone mad... You might wanna give my mechanic a call...I got same issue like yours for my W212...

Thanks for sharing. Did the remapping problem still came back. After diagnostic found that fuel pump faulty .

End up changing fuel pump & fuel filter . original parts plus labour less than $1k

I think reason for them not logging in to the Daimler server for ECU programming is because if failed in 5 attempts then the ECU will be locked and render useless .
