when a car has 3 to 4 previous owner, most likely that car is faulty or has a time bomb in it, best dont buy,

It's a lifestyle car so not that surprising. Suggest u strike a deal with the dealer to send the car to C&C for a full evaluation if you are really keen. If car is good, u pay the fees, not good the dealer bear the cost.

I agree with leftfield. Cars like that people don't usually buy to keep as everyday cars. Most just buying for the passion of owning one and selling it as soon as they get sick of it. Probably explains the higher number of owners. Make sure the car has been properly serviced and maintained, and would really be a good idea to let C&C check and diagnose the car. You won't want to pay for any hefty repairs as parts are pretty expensive.

Many probably bought it to fulfill their 'childhood dream car' thus after the excitement dies, they moved on. Try to get it check by C&C or our friendly sponsors prior inking the deal as you would not want to end up with a lemon. Lastly, bargain the price hard as you will be the 5th owner and should you decided to sell it later, the buyer will bark.

The slk is a fun lifestyle car, not too practical for use with only 2 seats and small boot.

So quite normal to have multiple owners as they will tend to drive it for short term and move on.But if within 5 years already 4 owners may be cause for concern. Could be car trouble or you may have to lower your sell price in future.

So do an inspection and get any pending issues sorted. It's a really fun car to own and you will enjoy the topless drive! :D

Bros n Sis.

What to look out for when purchasing a resale one?

A fellow bro has advise on any strange sound when retracting roof.

Is there any other?

Thanks

Apart from the usual checks as with any used car.

For slk, do a water test to check for any leaks and also the roof motor to be working fine.

You don't want to get wet with a roof leak or worst still, stuck driving in the rain with top down and roof can't close! :D
