Replacement headlight wiring for deteriorating ones

Ive been told that once the wires deteriorate and rubber insulation breaks down, you will need to change the entire light assembly which is costly. No one seems to do a replacement wiring and I've resorted to using insulation tape.

I found these on eBay and wonder if there are the cheap solutions to our problem and fix the potential fire hazard of sort circuiting.

Do you guys know if these are truly plug and play? If so, these will be fantastic!

I had the same problem too. Endemic to W211s.

It doesn't look that simple. =(

So end up, I changed the entire assembly to get rid of the fogged up lights (yellowish hue) and the wiring problem.

Yes. I've read that most change the entire assembly. But if the replacement uses the same wiring then the problem will recur within a few years unless MB uses stronger wires. I'm looking for heat resistant insulation tape to fix this.

Just go to C&C to complain and they will replace it FOC. My neighbour just replaced his. Both light C200 , 2008 model.
