car sometimes jerks while doing reverse parking

I wonder if anyone has this experience.

I am doing reverse parking. I need to adjust by going forward a bit and then engage reverse gear again. This is when it happens. When I engage gear "D", I feel my car jerk. It is a rather pronounced jerk, can feel as if the gear is kicking something. This doesn't happen all the time. Initially, I thought I change from reverse to forward gear too quickly. But sometimes even when I depress and hold the brake to ensure the car comes to a complete stop before I change gear, I would still feel the jerk. Not all the time though. Any idea what causes the occasional jerk? Should I be concerned?

By the way, my wife claims she has never experienced the jerk.

Same experience for me. I believe many also has the same experience. Not sure it' s a known manufacturing fault and have not got the chance to talk to CnC yet.

I hope those symptoms will not cause any damage in future.

Yes, I experienced tis occasionally too, didn't hv d chance to get C&C to check. I tot only I experienced tis.

I have the same problem too. Went to MBM and got it fixed and was told it was a manufacturing problem. Is about some kind of oil spilled out on a sensor, this can be solved by cleaning it. unfortunately, the problem will come back in a few months time when the sensor is dirty again. So after 4 months, the problem is back again, Will get it fix again during my next servicing with MBM.

What's your ride? Mine is FL C180K. My car seems to have a few inherent design flaws. Smell during hard acceleration, jerky reverse, tock-tock sound in the dashboard, etc. Sigh....

My ride is a E200 CGI and I am expericing what you have mentioned above except the dashboard tock tock sound. I have yet to find out where the smell come from but if you close your vent in your aircon, the smell can be reduced drastically.

For the smell, I have to do the opposite by opening the vent to reduce its intensity. This is something I learnt when I first sent my car to C&C Eunos Service Centre. So now it has been a habit. I will switch off the air circulation mode before doing any hard acceleration. The downside is, sometimes the exhaust fumes from the vehicles in front may enter the cabin. Sigh.... This is one inherent flaw that I don't expect from Mercedes.

I have the same problem but worst ......

My W204 engine die off while i doing my reverse parking ..............

To solve these problem...... I sold it !
