Workshop to Check For Lemon

Hi - Can anyone help to advise if there are workshop in (AMK autopoint ideally) who specialises in SLKs and can do a thorough check on a 05 SLK350? I am going to take the plunge but the only thing stopping me is it is a lemon with many problems. I test drive the car seems ok but would like some peace of mind so happy to spend the money.

Why don't you consider going to Automobiles Association (AA)'s used car inspection service? Personally have not tried it before but I heard good things about it.

only issue is i check many forums and most says the inspections are fairly superficial, and especially for the SLK350, not sure if it is comprehensive. If I can find one that can do a better job, i would go for it. If all else fail, I'll stick with STA inspection. Thanks for the suggestion.

Can try calling c&c, they have a 33 point check.

Or the usual sta inspection for peace of mind.

Do check for roof water leak too, as it's a cabrio.

thanks for the replies. I have send the car in to AAS which did a pretty good job. Cheap too as members only 90 bucks. I have put in my deposit for the car as well

thanks - been driving it for the past 2 weeks and loving every moments of it. Though my better half drives it mostly.

just discovered a leak on the T-joint between the roof and the frame, am sending to MBM tomorrow for a check. Just small droplets when it rains heavily.

also to fix up the smart top . . . bought from the net and getting them to fix it.
