Kena CEL last nite. Check using a OBDII reader, got the code PO171 system too lean (bank 1)

went in Msia last weekend. Pumped 48L of V-Power Racing at Shell just b4 Tuas Checkpoint.

4 days later, kena CEL.

2009 W204 C200K

Lost..

Anyone can advise more?

Surf thru Benz World, some say due to

1. vaccum hose leak

2. MAS, airflow sensor dirty or spoilt

3. fuel

4. Gasket spoilt

5. Fuel filter choked

Unfortunate to learn abt yr system pb bt bringg it to C&C shld solve it. Last visit to Starblack, i make request to hve my MAF clean via brake spray bt was nt adv coz its v extremely sensitive as it may damage. :pinch:

Its yr air filter stock or any other oem ie: harricane, K&N, Simonta etc....:blink:

Otherwise it cld hve been e daily traffic greese/ dirt tat may contaminate e sensor!

Yo Bro Hong,

The usual age of the car when the sensors get dirty or vacuum hose leaks, is around 5-6 yrs from my reading on web.

I managed to reset the code with a OBD2 reader and constant monitoring for now.

Car is good with no noticeable differences in performance.

I'm on Hurricane S/S air filter. Took it out n inspect yesterday. Ok. last wash 2 mths back.

if CEL pops up again, will send it in to See&See, to let them see & see.

My suspect is the V-Power Racing from the across the causeway last sunday.

I top it up with Esso98 in Singapore.

Half tank mark but i poured in 42L. A bit off my usual calculation.

Worried dat "seasoning" might be added to the V-Power dats y it leads to system too lean.

Btw, y the clean of MAF with ur last visit to SB?

really hope mine is a one-time off false reading..
