after living with the navigation maps in comand after one month, finally gave up and decided to go back to my trusty little Garmin 200W (ancient I know but it has served me well over the last 3 years!)

Needed to get the wiring in place and have it mounted correctly (it was previously on the windscreen mount but it blocked out the IU display). found a a cheapo aircon mount on ebay and had my orange TPMS from my previous car mounted too.

Here's the result. Not the most optimal i know but at least it's cheap!!!

Wonder whether there is any update on the version of the SE Asia maps that comes with the FL C180K deivery in mar/apr 2012 or they still comes with the outdated 2011 maps.

May I know where do you tap the power for the GPS?

Eh...no idea, i only know it was not to the fusebox like my other cars (Merc's fusebox is apparantly at the back). The folks at pin liang did it for me.

This was actually the first mod I did. Was recommended Autotrend and Pin Liang by my SE to install the wiring, but she said Autotrend had better workmanship. Did it within a week of getting my car.

I did my wiring for power supply at AutoSpritze. The devices (iPhone charger and video camera) are connected to a twin female cigarette lighter connectors and hidden under the steering wheel space. This connector is then joined to the car cigarette lighter at the center console. In this way, any overload will blow the car cigarette lighter fuse.

I depend a lot on Autospritze now to do any modifications for my car. Find them extremely reliable and very resourceful when it comes to Merc. Gonna install my Blackvue DR400G there next week.
