do you see "527 COMAND w/o DVD-Changer"? just curious why it isnt named as Audio 20.. so what is 527 COMAND and 512 COMAND?

google search doesnt seem to return much result other than mb pdf which seems to be a different item..

which c series did you get??? mine is the c180k, did not indicate 527 COMAND w/o DVD-Changer on additiona equipment list.

C180... but the wierd thing is i was told it does not come with navigation... so confusing..

I think 527 COMAND is the new Comand Online with single DVD player (not the 6-Disc changer).

i thought so too... maybe with this to addon the HDD Navi is simple perhaps..

Don't worry. If u guys are troubled by that item listed in ur SalesAgreement, u are always welcomed with arms wide open to swop deal with me. My SA quite clean and no such additional item like 'COMAND ###' on it...gives u peace of mind. What's more, delivery this mth!

My SE said that 527 COMAND has SATNAV. But no mention of "limited edition" though. First time I am hearing this.

I believe 527 COMAND comes with the satellite navigation as default.

C180 CGI lor.. book at the last week before CNY. I was told and showed the functions of the In-Car System and was told no NAV. but when they mailed me the Sales Agreement, i was browsing through and saw "527 COMAND Inclusive"... thus started this thread to ask...

If you guys didn't pay for the Command 527 option and you are getting it free then thank your lucky stars. I'm surprised this was not explained to you by your SE when you signed the purchased documents (or maybe you guys were just too excited).

On my coupe it came with integrated GPS (aka SAT NAV) and Linguatronic (interactive voice command system) and a single DVD/CD drive (screen shows DVD picture only when vehicle is stationary).

Having come from an Audio20 in my previous ride ride I can assure you that you will enjoy the better SQ in Command - It's a vast improvement.

Now back to the 'limited edition' bit.This is probably with reference to the MB 125th anniversary promotion last year where certain cars came with factory fitted Command Online as standard rather than option. The cars you ordered may be part of this batch (I'm speculating here). This was a really good deal as the option alone would've normally set you back 8.7k.

Seriously I didnt know till received my Sales Agreement. My SE did not mentioned about i might get this free COMAND when i was signing my purchased documents. I did not see that COMAND in my purchase agreement BUT ONLY in my Sales Agreement.

Was the 125th anniversary model same interior & exterior as the FL one?

COMAND-APS (NTG2.5)

This is a cost reduced (as far as I can see) NTG4 system all in one physical device used from Model Year 2009 in the A, B, W211-E, CLS, ML, GL, R, SL and SLK class vehicles replacing the NTG1 and NTG2 system previously fitted. It can easily be identified as the telephone hangup / pickup keys are red and green (NB, so are North American NTG1, NTG2 systems) and the soft buttons to the left and right of the display found on NTG2 are no longer present, and there is a flash slot above the DVD slot. It is expected that the Vito/Viano will get this system in late 2009. Note that the W209 CLK was never updated to NTG2.5 because it was being replaced by the W207 E class coupe.

Most importantly, the unit has build in Bluetooth telephone functionality that works really well and has voice recogntion. It also has an optional DVD changer built in. With the DVD changer, the unit has the Mercedes option code 512. Without the DVD changer it still has option code 527 which can be confusing when finding parts.

It has a SD slot for MP3 files, has an internal Hard Disk to hold the map and again supports DAB radio and Media Interface options.

The rotary controller is no longer present, and the unit has a proper keypad again.

It is much nicer than the older NTG1/NTG2 systems.

It is not made by Becker any more.

The wiring for the NTG2 and NTG2.5 look very similar, however there are some major differences if trying to put a NTG2.5 unit in a NTG2 car. These include, the phone controller and linguatronic are built in, so microphone wiring needs to be routed to the COMAND and probably the old phone and linguatronic (if present) need to be removed from the MOST fibre loop. The antenna power on NTG2 cars is driven from the COMAND, on NTG2.5 cars its controlled by another control unit (Rear SAM). The FM antenna connectors are different, and the AUX wiring now connects to different poins on the multiway connector.
