'Auto' Dimming side mirror on driver's side

Hello guys,

Anyone knows if there is anyway to reduce the dimming effect of the 'tinted' driver's side mirror? Somehow at night just can't seem to see very clearly.

Is it even 'auto' so to speak, or just a piece of tinted material pasted over the mirror?

Thanks!

Welcome in Singaporemini...:welcome:.

"The rear view-mirror and the exterior mirror on the driver's side automatically go into ant-dazzle mode when incident light from headlamps strikes the sensor in the rear-view mirror." - Cut and paste from Manual.

When in 'reverse' mode, it does not go into anti-dazzle mode.

Cannot be switch off, its an additional safety measure. If it really bothers you, the only way is block the sensor(not recommended).

you can dig your nose and stick your "GOLD" on the sensor on the rearview mirror.

welcome, singaporemini!!! :peace:

1st, to answer your question, there is no way of adjusting the "dim-ness" of the anti-dazzle feature on the rear view mirror and the driver's wing mirror... it will dim when a beam of light hits the sensor behind the mirror so that you don't get blinded by the irresponsible prick behind you with it's LTA non-compliant beams... also, it is not just a piece of tinted material pasted on the glass... i don't know what it is but it really does work... i guess you will have to learn to adapt to it? won't be long before you get used to it, trust me... :becky:

2nd, we look forward to meeting up with you!!! do check the Events section for information on activities, get-togethers, ad-hoc meet-ups and most importantly, the not-t-be-missed AMG annual party happening in 3 weeks' time!!!

cheers, mate... :thumb:
