After a week with W211 E230

It has been a week since I drove my W211 home. I am slowly getting used to a Mercedes and it has been extremely positive so far. Now I understand people's fascination with the three pointed star. Finally, I see the light!!

There has been some niggles though, and I am hoping someone can help me understand it better.

1/ There has been a whirring sound from the left side of my car. Not consistently, at slower speeds and when the car is not entirely level. it goes away when i switch off the air-conditioning so I am inclined it has something to do with that. So far, it is not affecting the performance but it sounds like a mouse is trapped and wants food. (and if anyone suggests buying a mousetrap...)

2/ Anyone can recommend how to treat a shuddering windshield wiper? Again, it wipes very clean, just a little irritating with the d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d.

Thanks to all.

1) Try opening the rear aircon vents and see if the sound becomes less. When rear aircon vents are closed, all the air outflow goes to the front, thus making some noise.

2) Juddering windscreen wipers. Go Autobacs and get cleaning product to clean the windscreen of deposits (ask a knowledgeable staff, say for juddering windscreen). After applying and wiping off, situation is much improved.

I have same dddd wiper on my w211 also. Tried everything from mama lemon to 3M sand paper to clay bar also cannot stop.

Finaly come across this Glass Polishing Compound from soft99 brought at Autobac. Comes with a sponge applicator and a small bottle.

Apply on the wind screen and polish like you polishing your car in circle. Then flush away and it will stop.... works great.
