w212 grey/blue smoke when cold start

Hi guys,

On my Brabus W212 E200 CGI, i am experiencing grey/blue puff of smoke during cold starting. It is quite noticeable as if there's a bbq goin on at the back of my car each time during cold start (smells like a bbq too thus more or less confirming it to be engine oil being combusted). All four of my exhaust tips are black sooted (not unlike a diesel turbo ).

Current mileage is 20,700 km and its a one year old car. Initial diagnosis is that the oil/air separator on the PCV system is faulty thus drawing in engine oil into the intake during engine running thus subsequently combusted. Another worry would be worn or harden valve seals but the engine being relatively low mileage i think that should not be a problem.

Appreciate any feedback from CGI bros.. Cheers

IMHO,

Do not feel offended!

When people refer to their car being Brabus or AMG, their car engines & chassis are done up back their respective factories.

What U have on your W212 is your ride was given a Brabus bodykit, accessories & probably a piggy back ECU from Brabus.

It's likely your piggy back ECU that U see the soot on your exos & "smoke"

Most piggy back ECU runs rich during idling!

I dun think anything is wrong with your right!

U can take out the Brabus piggy back ECU, I believe your "soot & blue smoke" will no more be there!

No offense taken. Should've mentioned brabus tuned instead as its sold thru a Brabus dealership.

Black smoke is a sign of rich af and 'burning' smell with a greyish tinge is more of engine oil being combusted and thats the reason for my posting.

FYI mine doenst come with the eco power piggy back so no overfuelling / underfuelling issues whatsoever. Rich af usually during WOT or throttle on situations and in direct injected engines off throttle or when idle the af is always lean IMHO.

Any CGI bros care to chip in ?
