e230 '07 model.Jerking and FC issues

Hi every 1....i m a newbie for Merc SG forum.... Appreciate if any of the veteran can advise me on the following issues.

1. My e230 when in stationary or about to move off...always have jerking /shaking motion . I dun feel that in my previous cars i.e Cefiro and Vios. I am sure it is not common for a Mercs status to have this effect? Been to TWM to get it fixed but results still the same...any guys to share how to effectively tell that to TWM techni?>

2. My FC is ridiculously low. my 1st bar dropped when it reaches 38km. and 1/4 tank used when jus reach 120km. My tyre pressure for Front&Rear is 29psi. any way to resolve it? i m worried it might be affiliated to Jerking issue at Pt 1 above.

3. Car tends to have additional whiz sound when it low speed like 40-50km/h. I tot it as unsual as normally the whiz sounds comes in only when V6 is on or in high speed like 95-120km/h?

Any particular reason U go to TWM or izzit becos of warranty!

There have quite a number of "PI" car owners with warranty under TWM voicing their unhappiness with their services.

They have 2 locations - 1 in the West & 1 in the East IIRC Jl Boon Lay & Kaki Bukit respectively

The 7G tronics does not behave this way leh...shd be smooth and better fuel economy?

At times can be so indecisive to choose between D1 & D2 like dunno goin or cumming!

C/S/M???? - In my ride no mode lah!.....muhahaha!!!!

But the ecu is learning my driving style fast enough!!!! :hand:

7-Gtronics automatic transmission of my '09 E230 (YOM '08) so far operates smoothly. use S mode all the time. Very rarely just a few times the gear box was searching for right gear ratio during hard acceleration. 7-Gtronics mates very well with the creamy smooth v6.

Yes! The MB V6s are creamy and NA is very quiet as compared to TC or SC engine.

I once sat in a 8 yrs old E240 and when the car was on the move it was "as quiet as day one"!

J: It might be engine mounting or gearbox mounting. if never change before is time to get it change, very common

Some older rides is E/S more newer rides C/S and those more hiong rides has C/S/M and I think the AMG rides have more modes!

Whatever suit your driving style.

In S, the gear changes come slower & at higher engine rpm.

In C mode, the gear changes quickly @ a lower engine rpm.

So S is more "spirited drive"!

Tyre pressure has significant effect on FC.

For my ride Pre FL W211 E240, 36 psi give easily 5 % better FC compared with 32 psi.

What is your milage, have u can the ATF. Is advise to change ATF ard 50 to 60K milage. For 7G require MB 236.14 ATF oil.

E230 7G had steptronic, can be driven as manual gear.

At D mode shift left or right to change diff gear. Push to left and Hold it will drop to 1 gear. While cruising push to left and hold it will drop to lower gear for u to chong.

All the current MB including 5 spd has this feature for quite a long time!

Even my previous 2003 W203 also has this feature more than 8 years ago!

Yes! U can chiong but not chiong to the red line cos it will shift to the next higher speed before approaching the red line to protect over rev!

I understand those with M mode will be able to chiong on the way to red line.

Instead of reading D1, D2, D3.....D, those with M mode will read M1, M2, M3,......

Current 7G-tronics do not have gear shift lever in the centre console

and gear change lever is now mounted on the steering column.

The gear change lever can no more do "stepp-tronic" shifting but they are now more exciting equipped with paddle shifts like F1 car! :becky:

pls go to the workshop to check the vibration/ jerking when moving off slowly.. its a common fault in w211 and can be rectified very quickly.. when i bought my car, the dealer let me test drive it and this was the problem i raised... he got it fixed at hin lung and no problem since then ...
