  • 10 months later...

reopening this topic...

just got a nail in my rear tyre.. damn.. just 3months old :-(

i'm thinking of getting runflats. i know our merc has some sort of flat sensor. but is it only able to detect flats on conventional tyres, or runflats as well?

ours is more to sense the tyre pressures rather than outright puncture detection, i read that RFT are much heavier so may affect your FC and in singapore every turn you should almost see a petrol kiosk and tow trunk is always available, however in malaysia maybe more use for RFT, but some friends in malaysia opted for the slime kit to replace the spare tyre, i think this kit is available in singapore too... perhaps u can consider...

not related to seller but just sharing: http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?autocom=classified&req=showprod&product=21724

I got an original MB puncture tyre repair kit for sale.

It comes with an original MB Compress Air Pump

it will zua some sort of slime that will fill up the puncture hole right?

but not sure if this will mess up the tyre pressure sensor in the car... if it is located inside the rim between the tyres..

if not, how can it detect a loss of tyre pressure.. don't think it can sense anything if it is located outside?

does anyone have experiences using this (or similar) in a merc?

Dun think any of the "normal" mb rides in Sg are fitted with pressure sensor in the tyres!

IIRC The pressure loss warning are sense by the braking system which will activate when there's a change in the breaking pressure in any of the wheels.
