Hi,

Kindly advise if I were to send my C180K for reverse sensor installation outside C&C, would C&C void the warranty of my car? I've just got my used Jan 2010 C180K last week, still under warranty.

Appreciate :)

Back to your reverse sensors!

Other than factory fitted sensors which is call Parktronic by MB, all other reverse sensors are currently outsourced by CnC to

TOMO-CSE AUTOTRIM PTE LTD

Block 3018 Bedok North Street 5

#02-08 Eastlink

Singapore 486132

Tel. 6445 5777

Fax: 6448 4426

Email: [email protected]

web: http://www.tomocse.com.sg/

Locally fitted reverse camera are also outsourced to the above company by CnC.

The reverse sensors fitted by the above company is not cheap and IIRC, they are around $600+ and they will also sprayed paint the correct MB color code to the reverse sensors according to your bumper color.

They will look exactly the same if U have opted CnC to do the reverse sensors for U!

I had them on my previous W203 C Class and FL W211 E Class.

They worked as good as the original MB Parktronics on my current W212 E Class

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks for the swift reply and warm welcome! Glad to be part of this family..finally!

My car dealer has actually arranged for his mechanic to install the reverse sensor for me end of this week, and it will only cost $150.00, I wonder if this is ok, I assume it doesn't provide the same colour matching services as the authorised shop.

Wonder has anyone done a reverse sensor other then the authorised shop or C&C, hope I am not getting a sensor which end up having problem with C&C later.

Thanks :)

Why should CnC have problem with your reverse sensor installation by outside workshop?

I have no experience with reverse sensors from other installers and I hope they are equally realiable, accurate and easy to use.

BTW U buought your car from a dealer i.e U bought an used car!

If U buy an used car originating from CnC and still under warranty, U can go on-line

on CnC website to register yourself as the new owner and the warranty will be extended to U!

Hope it works well, has been struggling the last few days with reverse parking, felt like a L-plate learner, too used to reverse sensor, bad!

Thanks for the info, will check C&C website, I thought the warranty follows the car, and service credit doesn't, so didn't bother to ask if needs to register again.

His concern is that after installation the reverse sensor the car electronics went hay wire then See&See will void the warranty bcos of this. Frankly, See&See can void yr warranty is they found unauthorise installation resulting hay wire issue.

If you go to Tomo will be a better choice since they are specialise with Mercs model. My motto for modding is "mods first talk later".

Probably quite s$#^ up installer if go messed with the car electronics.

Imho Reverse sensors is a standalone pc of equipment except it tap the signal from the reverse light wire, tap a 12V wire to power it and earth it to finish the simple connections.

For us we don't really be bothered on the warranty thingy lah. But is our role to let them knows that there will be warranty issue. We wouldn't want to be the guilty one, do we??

My present car agent also super strict on after market modification. I went back to them on a fuse blown due to I meddle with the LED thingy. They ask a executive to caution me about warranty issue & give me a red card too. But this didn't stop me, I went back to them in total 3 occassion on fuse blown. :) The chief mechanic ask me, "how come you like to change all yr lights to LED"? my reply "is my hobby leh"!!
