Lorinser bodykit for W221 & Lorinser 19" rims

Hi all, this is my very first post so pardon me if i'm asking too much.

I've searched throughout the whole forum but not getting too much info so hopefully some of the members here can help me out.

My dad is looking for a Lorinser body kit as well as matching Lorinser 19" rims and so far, we've already gotten a quotation from Benzline.

My question is, is there anywhere else that i can enquire for these items so that i can have a price comparison?

Also, i'm currently driving a W219 and i was wondering, my car "Jerks" a fair bit everytime the car lowers its gear from the 3rd gear to the 2nd (i'm just assuming its the 3rd to the 2nd). I can't remember if this was around from the moment i got it and i just noticed it recently or it just suddenly came up.

Does anyone have the same problem as me or at least know if this is normal?

Sorry for all this questions, especially since this is my first post and i'm just a newbie to this forum.

But its seriously great to finally find a forum that caters to this merc addiction!

Hi Narmi

Welcome!!!

My W219 (CLS) does not seem to do this 'jerking' while downshifting in 'auto'. Do you experience it when its downshifting in 'auto' or 'manual' or both?

In 'manual', downshifting with the 7Gtronic (using the D+/D-) takes some getting use to. It will select the lowest possible gear depending on your speed and throttle/rpm. That means it may select one gear down, or even two or three depending on speed. When using the D- or D+, play your throttle pedal pressure as you would in a truly manual/stick shift car. You will soon get the hang of it and from there will enjoy the 7Gtronic as a 'clutchless' manual.

Cheers.

Hi JGoh,

actually, the "jerk" comes only when its in auto.. when i'm playing with the manual shift, it does not do that.

I'm actually sending my car for servicing very soon so i just wanted to clarify this problem before i tell it to C&C otherwise, knowing C&C, they might just say its normal when its downshifting to low gear.

And the jerk is actually VERY noticeable. Its kinda like if you're using a manual car, and you're downshifting from 2nd to 1st and release the clutch too fast, that's how bad the jerk is.

My warranty is coming to an end soon so i thought i better write down a list of problems that i'm facing before i go to service it right before the warranty runs out.

Anyway, thank you so much for your input. really appreciate it.

Am looking forward to have a chat with you guys during your next meetup.

Hi JGoh,

i just got my car back from mercedes and i complained to them regarding the "jerk" as well as a few other problems that i had.

They did a test drive and at first thought that there might have been some problem with my gear box.

but they checked my gear box and nothing seemed out of place.

in the end, they "upgraded the engine software" (thats what they told me), and ITS FINE NOW!

downshifting has never been smoother!

I never knew a "software" could have such a big influence!

anyway, just wanted to let u know that its all solved now! *phew!

Hope to see u guys in the upcoming meetup..

Hi Narmi

Thanks for the update. Sounds like they 'fixed' your TCU and/or ECU after checking that your transmission solenoid was ok. Glad that your 'jerking' problem is fixed.

Btw, what is the mileage on your car now?

Cheers

Hi JGoh,

My mileage right now is about 35K.

Almost finishing the warranty period thats why i wanted to fix everything before it ends.

Had a bad experience with my previous C class so not taking any chances. ;)
