Dear forum,

Got some burning questions to ask

1 Respray

Want to change my black C180 to maybe a R8 blue? Does anyone know of complications from doing a body shell respray? Read in our forum about messed up electronics and leaking...... anyone with experience in this?

2 Light covers

The front headlight covers are starting to look yellowed, the first giveaway sign that your car is "old" . Does changing the covers to new ones help? Or is it inherent due to moisture getting into the lights which causes moulding?

W204 or W203? For respraying the usual problems are parking sensor damage by the installer. Leaking issue is when the seal is harden resulting wear & tear is possible too. Ask the workshop guy whether the cost cover all these issue & damages.

Headlight cover when old will turn yellowish is common due to the heat etc. Autobacs have this service to remove the residue but not sure it works coz the yellowish thingy is inside the headlight lens. Do give them a shot & let us know the finding.

Head to a spray painter that has vast experience in doing up these models. That's about as safe as you'd get.

headlight covers getting yellow? there are enuf people in the industry who will "polish" it to make it white

Thanks everyone, am refurbishing the car slowly. Did the leather and rims last year. Its a w203 coupe 7 yrs young.

Likely going to Tan Seng Whatt at sin min for the paint. Will look at the headlight options!
