Hi guys, does anyone know what is the colour code for black W221?

Thanks

1. If U give your VIN aka chassis number to Bro camber53, you will able to tell from the information he give U!

Mine came out like that

474U PERIDOTBROWN METALLIC PAINT

2. This link may tell U where to find your Paint Code numbers

http://www.automotivetouchup.com/paint-codes/mercedes-benz.htm

This link might be able to tell U what color or name of your paint code

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w124-e-ce-d-td-class/1462920-mercedes-color-codes-names.html

More egs.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, bro! I'm actually driving a W203, and intends to spray my roof to black colour. Needs to give a colour code to my workshop, saw the latest S Class and finds the black quite glossy...

The current S-Class has the non metallic black Paint Code : 040

For metallic black there's a new color Magnetite Black - Paint Code: 183

The older color which is still available on most models including the S Class is Obsidian Black - Paint Code: 197

Eh. . Why is non metallic better for roof top? Thought metallic will look nicer?

IMHO, the Obsidian Black & Magnetite Black is not as "black" as the non-metallic black.

The metallic black has "speckles" of "metallic dust" in the paint which looks good on a ride.

For the roof especially for a white car, the non-metallic black will look like a glass roof (pana-roof)

End of the day - It's each his own and the choice is yours!:hand:

My Rp 2 worth!

panaromic roof look?? Sticker is cheaper than spray paint.

The main reason for re-spray is some rusting occurring imside the paint. On the edge of the rooftop I can see the paintwork blotting, so have to remove the paint and rust-proof before re-spray.
