Hi all,

I am driving a 2006 W203 C180ML... Recently, my aircon started acting weird...

When i start my car and turn on the aircon, the aircon works fine, then after awhile (sometimes 10mins, sometimes 40mins), it just turns itself off and after 1-2 mins, it turns back on again...

Anyone else encountered this problem? do you know what is the cause of this?

thanks!

Joe

This aircond problem seemed quite similar to mine before. After the initial adhoc off, the the blower will be blowing warm, hot air instead of cold. Send it to an aircond workshop - they flushed out the gas and refilled new gas. This solved the problem for 3-4 months only. Then recently, it happened again. This time I send it to a recommended workshop who checked and detected my compressor was faulty. I had it changed, now its working fine. Hope this can be of help to guide you in solving your aircond problem. Good luck .

Hi evomerc,

thanks for the respond.. after the adhoc off, my blower blows normal cold air as per usual... the funny thing is that when i leave the internal air circulation OFF, it doesn't seem to occur.. but if after starting the car.. and i turn the internal air circulation ON < 5mins..then it starts to happen.. funny... like the car's aircon got a mind of its own...

Another bro also have similar problems... but we're letting it be first and see how it goes...

Do you mind sharing (can PM me) the cost of the aircon compressor for our W203 C class and which workshop you went?

Many thanks!

Joseph

Hi,

I encountered the same issue. [symptoms: The aircon blower will suddenly stop for about 1 min. But all A/C lights still working etc. But when it works, it behave normally.]

Another kind bro had advised correctly that it could be due to worn out carbon brush for the blower motor.

Solution: Changed my blower motor (reused my regulator). It works.

Hope it helps others. [Pay it forward]

I have the same symptoms sometimes! And because it happened over the same stretch of road for 2-3 days, I suspected EMC problems lol.

Thanks for sharing
