CnC or PI

Now that the FL C-class is here and my car is celebrating its 8 year birthday soon, I need to do some homework.

I am thinking of going the PI way to get the car but still do not have a lot of confidence in them. However, getting from CnC does not have any benefits other than pay more.

Help me list the good and bad and experience so that I can make a better decision. Thank You all.:becky:

My Rp 2 worth of IMHO - Do your Homework!

I know U are not in a rush!

1. No harm going down to CnC - see what they have to offer in terms of prices & features. Check with them overtade on your W203, discount, package, service credits, enchancement package. Remember what's on paper is not "always dead"

Important get a good SE who's really knows that U are out getting a car and he should work his "ar$e to give U the "best pricing". - Benchmark made on pricing and features known from AD!

2. Go hunt down reputable PIs - make sure they have ready stock for U to see.

What you see is what U get - Forget about they quoting U and promising U esp. on features. Go thru the features with a "fine comb".

They always give "lousy" overtrade on your old car!

Get some recommended PIs from the Bros here eg. desmond, 6008, etc

Bargain till the "car" cums home

3. Decide which variants U want - discuss with your MHA - Make decision with your heart. CnC or PI!!!

4. Pay your deposit, put a big smile and wait for your ride!

Sound simple but lots of leg work, mulling over, occupies your mind while doing things, comparing "what if"s but then U know the buying experience is cumming back.....hahaha!

if you have the time and the patience.. get one direct from hong kong.. much better price.. besides, when you import your car here, you can get 3 years warranty from infinity aka tan chong and maintenance of a benz in Singapore is so easy.. so many competent workshops with good facilities.. we have star black, mbm, autospritze etc.. and many many more...otherwise.. just pay more and get it from c n c, they will probably throw in a few freebies, give u some small gifts, invite you to product launches, send you some magazines and when you send the car for service, a tea lady will ask you how u like your coffee and plenty of papers to read.

I'm a very shallow person. I feel people know you pay lesser when you buy PI's car. I doing business, cannot malu one. Haha. Personal branding la and also if suay suay those expensive parts spoilt, knn, must bang table, kpkb to get things done then abit sian lor.

If you do your calculation, actually if you buy PI's car, the savings is about $20k +- after your trade in. So if you buy a $200k car, $20k is very little lor.

I apologise in advance if I offend any PI's owner. The above solely applies to me only and it is my own personal opinion.

My heart is with PI bcoz of the package & pricing. Also, all Mercs products produce in Germany no longer from any 3rd world ctry etc. I m sure we are confident with this brand too. Getting from PI do have many concerns such as the process of buying & product warranty issue. I won't go into which PI to buy from etc coz I m sure u have good PI contact by now. After Warranty is the key issue here, will they honour in the event of the car have major issue? My main concern is the service workshop after the purchase.

For c class no doubt buy from c and c. Savings are too little abt 15k buy from PI.

For like e class coupe or cabrio, savings are as high as 70k.

E class saloon as high as 40k.

As long as you don't want to have a conversation like " mm.. Mine is PI la" then don't buy from PI.

If u like to say, " wa I can go Alexandra free coffee anytime" then buy from C and C.

KIA Sportage dun think PI has!

Kopi dun cost $40k @ CnC and is free to all - dun need to buy from CnC to have free kopi!

Can drop in there for free kopi, find out lots of info & check out the rides as "homework", then head out to PIs for comparison. :hand:

Good insight! I think I read this too before I bought my car. If you are that kind who don't want hassle, go AD, if you don't mind hassle, go PI.

I chose PI mainly bcos of the price . I saved abt $44k compared to AD . Merc is a Merc ! No matter its AD or PI . Pay $44K to have the cnc logo on my ride is really unnecessary .That $ saved can put up for good use when in need . I heard that the resale price difference between AD & PI also not much . Kindly note that above are my Personal opinion only . :hand:

If u don't plan to keep your ride for more than 5 years, then PI.

If u want keep more than 10 years then AD.

There're both pros & cons buying from AD & PI.

There will be different camps i.e AD, PI & Indifferent

We can argue till the cars...cows cum home.

In the process, I've noticed @ other forums these arguments can get quite

heated up.

IMHCCBO, End of day whichever route suit your needs , go with it!

Go with heart, go with your mind, go with whatever U think suit U best!

True. Did my sums and found that C&C's markup on the c-class is quite low at abt 15k. After u less all the fixed overheads, comm$, marketing costs, taxes, etc, they prob earn abt half of that. Tink even VW's profit margin is higher than that.

I am looking more on the experience of anyone who has bought from PI. Price wise, a $10k difference can mean with or without a AMG bodykit or pano roof or more.

At the end of the day, PI will still get you more options with the same price from CnC. It's the warranty claim, buying process and other future issues that are the concern.

Interestingly, I have not had so much to think last time when I bought my A and C-class. May be I am getting old liao and thinking too much......:becky:

Hi Buddy!

I just got my E250 Coupe from a PI. Experience was a bit more hassle than buying from AD, but at the end of the day I estimate I saved around $40K!

The PI also gave a deal on the warranty of 5 years, 200K km! So far no experience about warranty claims but there was a slight issue with the window film and the PI arranged for the fitter to come to my place to rectify the issue.

The 7G OMV so low? No wonder C&C prob onli sold the C180CGI for a limited time after they realized their margins too low.
