Ticking sound from car

Hey guys,my w168 is encountering weird ticking sounds coming from the front air con vents located beneath the windscreen. I don't usually turn on the vents and it occurs when the car is travelling up slopes or down slopes,and not on even roads. Does anyone know whats going on?

I have those sound sometime in my W203 too.....but it does not bother me too much because it hardly happen, just once in a long while.

For W203, its a purge valve; as for W168, Im not too sure either. ???

i got those sound for my W204 too when crossing some uneven road, on the passenger side.

Hmmm....my W203 also had similar sound. My W204 only 12 days old so no sound yet ;D

could it be a cockroach got stuck in the aircon vent... den now decide to commit suicide? by creating bomb?

aclassboy, joking aside.. did some googling.. found out that it seems to be this "stepper motor" problem. im guessing your w168 should be over warranty liao?

My 3.5 years old W203 has this rattling sound which seems to come from the passenger side dash but wifey says it comes from the driver's side dash... ???
