You must have been given a tonne of service credit for being the No 1 Merc addict, that's why anyhow spend right ? ha ha

But seriously, $400 for a mid cycle oil change is a rip off !

Just to check, how much does it cost to do just the oil change and tyre rotation at 7500km ? Any recommeded place to do this ? Star Black ?

Just called up C&C and the lady that answers the phone kept quoting me $500+ for lubricant servicing. Sounds like the 15k servicing she is talking about.

Thanks.

mate, i dont pay more than $200 for a servicing for oil change etc.. and a bit more if things like spark plugs etc have to be changed.. so yes.. star black the site sponsor with the clean garage have a fair market rate...

Wow $400 is really kinda ex for an oil change.

I got my Castrol Edge Sport for $80 + oil change servce at Leong Sheng Tyre shop for around $50. Tyre otation is free coz i purchased the rims from them.

I believe that's because of the profit margin of the parts they are replacing for your ride's MAJOR SERVICING. Would be good to enquire what are the parts to be replaced and get these OEM parts from our authorised dealers? Then you show up for your servicing with these parts. Sounds logical?

If I'm right, this Service B+ (major service), the parts replaced includes:

- flushing of your ATF

- changing of your ATF filter

- steering fluid

- flushing coolant

- changing your fuel filter

- change of spark plugs

- flush and change of brake fluid

- change of dust filter

- air filter

- 5.5l of engine oil

- engine oil filter

- rotation of tyres

- top up your wiper wash fluid (I think they charge you for some S$6 or something!!)

- maybe some others parts which my research hasn't revealed!

So, all in all, quite a lot of stuffs are involved. That's why the S$2k plus minus quote you've gotten.

why would anyone void your warranty just cos u decided to go for an "oil change"....

anyways.. price quoted at SGD$2k is too high .... atf flushing not more than $300 including new atf

i wonders how will SE responds if we r to change our wipers outside?

"Your wipers are not endorsed by MB and may not possess the full capability to wipe clean your windscreen when it rains. We have to take your ride as modified so WARRANTY VOIDED!!" :peace:

Yes, servicing using outside will void yr warranty.

Logic!! The original parts purchase from dealer will See&See take the parts & install for you?*But someone claims that u can bring yr own engine oil for the servicing by See&See not sure Choon or not??

if in the event the engine die on you, u claim See&See?

Understand from my CnC SE that even changing of engine oil is not allowed to be done by outside workshop else might have warranty issues.

YES, inshort for servicing go back to See&See. For parts replacement by outside workshop u take yr chances. So why See&See charges so high? What else, liability!!

If you have original spare parts which you bring and also oil which is Merc approved when u go for servicing, I don't think there is a reason why seeandsee can reject you, right?

My attempt for my service A has proven just that.

Maybe I'm lucky? Not sure, but give it a try, I would say.
